My friend got this for his laptop. Apparently all you do is install the program and if your laptop gets stolen, you call the place, and they track it anywhere via the wireless connection. What do you think of this? Could anyone fill me in on the details. Has anyone ever had to use it?

I've heard of things like that, it's certainly be useful if you take your notebook out a lot. I've never used anything like that myself.
-
Wouldn't it be useless if the harddrive was swapped?
-
I dont know, I just know that the website that sells it has a 99.7% tracking accuracy, and 80% of the laptops reported are recovered. Also, if they don't recover it, they give you $1000.
-
And how much do you pay if they do find it?
-
$1001.00

Just yesterday I searched these forums for LoJack info and came up pretty blank. Now, today, minutes after posting a near identical thread to this, I find this thread.
Brilliant.

If you search google you can find something by Computracker or something. The program is about $100 and you just install it on the computer. I'm not sure of the details but I am definitely going to get it when I get my laptop. They sell it at Staples.

Computrace, makers of LoJack, is what you're referring to.

Now now... come on, that's just Lo, Jak
