Hi there
I'm in the process of getting XP to dual boot with Vista on my laptop.
I've got to the point where I've got XP running but my nvidia ethernet controller won't give me the network connection in the network connections window and it doesn't show up in the system tray either.
Device manager is showing all the drivers are installed and working fine, and I've done a couple of uninstalls/reinstalls of both XP and the relevant drivers but had no joy.
Would someone be able to advise me on what could be the issue here and how I can solve it?
My laptop is an acer aspire 9302, I'm not sure what the ethernet card is but I know it's possibly an nvidia one because it works in Vista and uses nvidia drivers, it did work in XP the other day but I've had to re-install XP since due to messing up the partitions. The ethernet is working fine in Vista though...
I've downloaded the drivers from Acers website and used those as well and still it doesn't work.
I've used the same driver packages I used when the ethernet lan was working and showing up in the system tray and network connections window.
Sorry I can't at this point give any info other than that because I'm not sure what else might be required.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice![]()
EDIT: Ok I solved the problem, it seems I had a botched XP install so I formatted the partition and started again, for the 3rd time. Anyway all is ok now.
Thanks to anyone that was going to post some advice.![]()
