I'm having trouble getting the drivers to install. The OX loaded successfully, but I'm unable to get either of the last two version of the drivers, 57.30 en or 61.76 to install. The installation seems to run ok, then I reboot, and still have unrecognized device for video, only Standard VGA adapter is recognized, no new property pages on the display control panel applet, etc. Searching for new hardware doesn't bring up an entry for an unrecognized device -- there is one listed in Device manager tho.

I'm at aloss. I've read that a lot of folks have had no trouble installing the drivers. Meanwhile can't set the resolution to match the screen, closest is 1280x1024 (vs. 1680x1024), and refresh rate is too low -- a headache in the making.

    The system is HP Pavilion zv5255us; amd64 3400+; 512MB; Nvidia« GeForceÖ 4 440 Go 64M (video adapter)

I'm also interested to find drivers for the Broadcom 54g wireless nic (built in). HP claims they don't have even a beta, and that they won't have a driver until they offer 64bit windows on this model.... The wifi adapter is a proprietary builtin, so Broadcom also denies any responsibility. [this is all VERY lame]

    /ts

This is why the XP-64 OS should not be used as the main OS until at lease an RC is released. It is still in beta, and most companies have not come out with approved drivers as of yet.

Also consider that this is an older GPU solution with newer techs. I would recommend checking out www.pcdrivers.com. They are mainly for desktop components, but you might get lucky.

    Good luck!

Update to getting the video drivers from Nvidia to install:

It was partly user error. I did some digging; MS installation service was turned off by default on install. Anything using the, eh, new M$ installation model will not work unless this supporting service is started. Started it, and the Nvidia video drivers installed; all is well in XP64 land now, as far as video drivers.

Still no word on drivers for the wireless card tho:
    Broadcom 54g Max Performance 802.11g

HP's official position is that AMD 64 bit hardware architecture is selling alot of laptops and other boxen, but they feel no need to support the hardware at this time. They won't feel any need to offer even beta drivers for their integrated Broadcom product until they sell the release OS (XP 64 bit) pre-installed. HP offers the platform solely as a marketing ploy, and has no sense of obligation to support the consumers of this product at this time.... HP tech support explains that identifying the chip used on this built in adapter would be giving away trade secrets (is that lame or what?)

Broadcocm offers no drivers. They feel no responsibility, nor desire any increased market share.
