So, Ive had this problem twice sofar, I cant remember what I
did last time to cause it.. but this time I copied some text from photoshop and pasted it into dreamweaver..

It didnt wanna copy after pressing ctrl + c twice.. third time my screen
goes black.. and after giving me a mild heart-attack it recovers:

Anyone with some advice? Ive read that one of the latest Nvidia driver 196. something.. was NOT stable.
So I dont wanna upgrade really. This problem is also driver related as you can see.

Its weird, been using it problem free since november 09.

    thanks

I've been using 196.86 for a while now, and it's 10x more stable than the one provided by Sony (for me), even while overclocked. I suggest you update your drivers.

    Don't use 195.62... I had trouble with 2D/3D clocks.

    It's 100% driver issue. It's probably 196.21 that's causing your problems. ;)

I have used 196.21 on every system both desktop and laptops and it's not uncommon to get a flag from my system tray saying the "nvidia driver has stopped responding...they have recovered".

As others have mentioned try another driver. I had installed 196.75 until nvidia said uninstall immediately because of reports of fan issues and possible GPU failures.

I'm waiting for the next release. :)

Well, just look at my screenshot you will see I have the 195 driver.. never installed the 196 lol.

But the fan issue i read about, so im not upgrading.. ill just take the current problem for granted and wait till the next driver.

Damn, Nvidia never were this reluctant before with drivers were they?

Im guess the fermi deadlines are getting to them.

Like I said above, the 196. 86 is really darn stable. And the fan issue was corrected with this release. (stress tested with a GTX260m)

Yep, it's a modded .inf install from LaptopVideo2Go. It is SUPER stable, compared with the stock drivers, which also suffer from DPC Latency issues as well on the original CW.
