    Hi,

Many users seem to be carrying out a lot of intensive tasks such as 3D, Photoshop, CAD, DTP, music recording, music editing, encoding video and video editing etc on thier 'windows xp' run notebooks.

If I were to ever go from OSX to XP, I would have a few niggling worries!

If I want to create music and video on the go then what apps are recommended?

I like using iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, Final Cut Express and Logic Express to do all video and sound work. Any similar/equivalent 'windows xp' based programs?

What apps are you guys currently using or would use to do the above-mentioned tasks?

    Thanks,

Adobe has a suite of software to do what you're talking about (photoshop, premiere, audition, etc.); XP doesn't have anything resident that will do it.

Yeah, the Adobe suite is the best possible solution for you. Final Cut is the best video editor on the market, but I'm not sure how Express compares to Premier. Maybe Premier in this suite would be an upgrade...

Yeah, Adobe should definitely do you fine. I have some friends that are actually going to record their band's next album using Adobe Audition rather than going to a studio like last time. That's if they ever get around to it. College takes up a lot of your time.
