    Hi everyone,

I love ObjectDock but it loads extremely slowly as a startup program. For 30 seconds to 1 minutes after logging on to windows, the computer would seem to be doing nothing. Then, the dock loads.

Just recently I discover that having less than 14 items (including separators, docklets, and shorcuts) appears to solve the problem. With only 14 items, ObjectDock loads instantaneously at startup. Of course, I've to sacrifice the number of items to achieve this.

Anyway, does anyone know how to speed up ObjectDock without having to reduce the items to 14?

I've got 21 items and ObjectDock is the 1st thing to load up upon boot.

Maybe you have too many other things that are set to start up when you turn on your computer.

2gb, T7300? Sounds too good for ObjectDock to start up slow...

Well, I actually don't have much stuff set to startup. Besides, when I have more than 14 items ObjectDock always load 30s-1 min after ALL other stuff finished loading.

By the way, I have Vista and the latest version of objectdock.

What docklets do you have running? Those are the most common causes of slow-downs. Try to drag them off your dock to see if they are making a difference.

I'm running the latest version of ObjectDock too(but not Plus version) with 22 items. With T7300 and 1.5GB RAM I haven't encountered any problem so far(though it will crash sometimes :p)

I had the same problem, then switched to rocketdock. It is using 3.8 K memory without any docklets.

My weather docklet on mine quits working all the time, then I have to reset the general settings. Getting to be a pain.

ok i thought i should share my experience ,i had a similar problem and then i played arround and here is my solution ,
when you set the task to autohide ,and when the taskbar is at the same position as the dock,so what i have done is ,i unhide the windows taskbar then unlocked the windows taskbar and then moved it to a different site thanthe dock ,now it runs alot faster on startup and it seems alot more stable ,hope that helps"i am running windows vista ultimate btw"
