ObjectDock: Folder Shortcuts not working

Hello,

Title tells all...well almost. I click on my shortcuts to folders (Music, Docs, etc.) and nothing happens (My Computer Shortcut works).

It may be related to the problem I discussed in this post, Re: windows always opening in a separate window:

*just curious* - did you have the shortcuts on the desktop and once you pulled these shortcuts onto OD, did you delete them from the desktop? Because I remember I did this once, and the shortcuts was not working... then I realised the shortcuts have to be directly connected to wherever we pulled them from, in the first place..

*I guess you are probably more experienced and checked this issue, but just a thought since I experienced similar....

Meanwhile I have no idea if this is related to your other issue, though I have been following that as well... and something tells me probably its not related to that issue.. I may be wrong, though.

 

Snap, I just tried creating new shortcuts on the desktop and dragging them onto my dock...still no love.

The reason I'm thinking it may be related the Folder opening problem from my other thread, is that the best I can tell, those problems popped up at the same time.

Ok then.. probably its somehow related.. because I don't have a problem with OD...

But the shortcuts you created on the desktop, are they still there on the desktop?

have you tried to directly pull the programs / folder from wherever they are, onto the OD????

I usually do it this way.. but either way, it should be working.. dont know why though..

Btw, tried reinstalling OD? or at least exit the program and start it again?

 

Well I'll be...I originally changed the value from "open" to (Value not set) in order to fix the problem in my linked thread. I just changed it to "explore" and everything works now.

Here's what I think happens:
open - overrides Folder OPtions settings to always open in new window
explore - overrides Folder Options settings to always open in same window
(value not set) - supposedly resorts to settings in Folder Options

Somehow there must have been a disconnect somewhere along the registry that stopped my links from opening windows at all...not sure, I know close to nothing about the registry, but it works now =)a

Ah thats nice... I'll keep an eye on this thread in case I hit on similar issues in the future bm'ing this thread... oley!!!
