Ok, I'm planning to get an hp dv5t, with vista 64 bit. I've seen some posts around that objectdock doesn't work on vista 64 bit, and others say that it does.
    So, finally, does it work?

And also, what's the difference between 32 bit & 64 bit vista? Say if I got 2GB ram, would it be more efficient on 32 or 64 bit?

    Thanks in advance.

Its Rocketdock that didnt work on x64.

Ive been using ObjectDock on Vista64 for a long time now.

If you have 2gb RAM, you might aswell stick with 32bit unless you need more than 4gb RAM.

Objectdock absolutely works with Vista x64 because that's what I'm using and I've been using Objectdock since forever.

RocketDock works fine, I've been running it on x64 for a couple months now, no problems.

I don't have any experience with this software but I did notice they said 64 bit is "not supported". Usually that means "it might work, it might not... don't complain to us".

really? i have vista ultimate 64bit and its very unresponsive for me - takes like 10-30 seconds from me having the mouse over an icon before OB reacts - im hoping they release a 64bit version soon beucase its near unusable

rocketdock on the other hand works perfect

There must be something wrong with you installation of objectdock. It is very snappy on my laptop (I have vista business 64). You may want to go throught the options and optimized the settings for more speed.

I'm still not sure why people recommend Vista 32bit over 64bit when there is no mention of a driver issue?

How would Vista 32bit be more effecient than 64bit? The opposite should be true since the OS gets quite a few under the hood enhancements (like for me the Window Address Heap Space is enlarged by a lot over 32bit)...

64bit is the way to go irregardless of the amount of RAM as it does a lot more than just address more RAM!

I'm using the free version of object dock on my notebook with vista64 with no problems. Give the free version a try then move to the pro if you like. The pro adds some nice features, I use it on my desktop.
