The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Office 2007 []Keep your system running.

    The first time you run Office 2007, it gives you the options "Get online help", "Keep your system running", and "Make office better"

    The description for the 2nd option reads "Download a file periodically that helps determine system problems." Is this useful? Just sounds a bit bizarre.

    Basically, this uploads reports of the errors you experience to Microsoft - who then studies these reports (and reports from others around the world) and tries to find a solution or at least the culprit.

    It is not harmful, but it does not necessarily directly benefit you as they make it sound.

    I enable this on my computer, because I'd like to see these problems fixed. ;)
