Hi everyone! so I'm buying a new laptop and I was wondering two things about office

    1) when you click on it being included with your laptop (either hp.com or dell.com) do you get the exact same thing you would buy in best buy or do you just get it preinstalled on your computer?

    2) if you do buy Office 2007 (student version) from best buy, how many computers can you install it on?

I have a couple of friends that want to buy office 2007 as well so we were going to try and split the cost and what not...

    thanks

You don't have to connect Office to the internet to install it. You simply need the registration key.

Legally, you're only supposed to install it on one computer. If you want to install it on a second computer, you have to completely uninstall it from the first.

However, you may install it on as many computers as you want all at the same time. There's nothing stopping you from doing so. That would be going against the Terms And Conditions but who cares?!

Office 2007 Home & Student edition can be installed on up to three computers in the same household. Legally, it cannot be installed for commercial or business use.
