    Hey guys,

I just loaded up a 6-month trial of Office 2007, it has been updated with the latest hotfixes and I am really having performance issues. For instance, let's say I wanted to go to a word document as I am typing. As soon as I switch over to word, I get the busy mouse cursor for 1-2 seconds before I can begin to operate in Word.

Powerpoint is even worse every time I want to move, create, or delete something it takes a second or two for EVERY operation.

Any clues what I'm doing wrong? Is it an issue with me running Vista x64?

Just want to know, b/c I really dig the new functionality of Office, but if it's going to be so cumbersome, there's no way I'll get the full version when my trial runs out.

P.S. Could it be the trial version?

I doubt if it's the trial version. What does your system monitor say? Is it taking a lot of resources? I'm running Vista 32bit and Office 2007 and so far it's fine.

Maybe you could try uninstall and reinstall again?

Perhaps. Nope, resources are just fine. I know it's not my system capabilities, and it's not something silly like a fragmented hard drive.

Perhaps I will re-install 2007. Could it be the fact that I still have Office 2003 installed?

What is on the second disc btw. It didn't ask for it when I installed.

    Thanks for the help.

This is ridiculous...it just took me 231 seconds (that's almost 4 minutes!) to save a 14 slide ppt (roughly 4 megs). Mostly text with a few graphics on one slide.

I disabled all add-ins (though I only has the default ones going, and non were active) in both Word and Powerpoint and I see a little imcrease in performance. It did shave down the save time for my powerpoint file considerably.

    Any other clues?
