Yup no problem guys, downloading now. Its supposed to adress alot of the main performance and bug issues. Hopefully it fixes that one annoying, shut down error problem.

I'm setting a restore point right now, which I highly recommend b4 installing it. I'll post back and let you know how it goes :)

    EDIT>>>>

OK, I'm back. The install went really smooth. The SP1 download is about 218MB's. From start to finish, it probably took me close to 25 minutes to install. That includes the download, system restore point, install, reboot and back on the net.

I disconnected my wifi during the install and kept it disabled until after the completre install and there were no problems. It didn't ask to phone home or anything like that, This has to be one of the smoothest installing releases I've seen in long time from MS.

    Now watch my system crash..........

I just got a notification from Windows Update. It's going a pretty good speed I think and I'm on 7.1mb

For whatever reasons, I have updates setupped as "NOTIFY ME BEFORE EVERYTHING" and it still downloaded it to 25% before notifying me

I'm still using Office 2003. I'm waiting for Vista SP1 to start shipping with new laptops and whatnot before I purchase a new one.

    Once I purchase a new notebook, that's when I'll use Office 2007 SP1.

Can someone give a brief summary of main issues that are addressed? Any new features?

My 2007 works flawlessly, fast and never crashed, and I don't know if I should be installing this, since if it ain't broken...

nice. I love office 2007. Hope the new Windows will be the kind of upgrade 2003 - 2007 was.

    Just installed all the updates...

    Seems slightly faster...
I've been using Office 2007 for a while and I have to say that it's probably the best software suite microsoft had ever made.

If you mean the one where it tells you its stopped responding, yup it fixed it.

My thoughts on office sp1 are good. Though I notice no major changes but the fixed crash for me. Time will tell I suppose.

Will this service pack ever be an automatic update, or will I have to download it my self if I want it?
