    Hi,....little confused regarding this upgrade

My Home & Student trial 2007 which came with the laptop got expired...so i downloaded Enterprise edition of office 2007 as my dad had purchased a key he never used. And i need Outlook 2007 also.

So how do i go about this ?

Should i first uninstall Student Edition completely & then install Enterprise?

Or will entering the Key on Student edition automatically upgrade to enterprise using activation assistant?

    Hi,

Are you holding an NUS laptop? :)

Anyway, to upgrade what you need to do is remove the old office, then install Enterprise. I would feel that is the cleaner way to do it.

Just install Enterprise. It'll upgrade everything when necessary. Thats how I do it. I upgrade the old Office to the new one. Never had any problems.

I upgraded My Office XP to 2003 just by popping in the disc and clicking upgrade. When I upgraded from 2003 to 2008 did the same thing. Works fine.

Chances are you only need to install the extra apps that come with Enterprise since Word, Powerpoint and OneNote are the same everywhere. Just look at what the installer tells you.

Can't really imagine what could go wrong.

Used 2007 Enterprise extensively for several months and I had to go back to Office XP. It frustrated me immensely with the new changes and the "ribbon".

It takes getting used to. I know. But for compatibilities sake I switched. Needed it for work. Anyway, got a free disc out of it.
