I'll definitely give it a try, I wonder how different it'll be from 2007. Thanks Detlev.
-
Judging from the beta it's quite similar to 2007, they tweaked the interface and look a bit, but I haven't dabbled too much with it in detail. I'm sure I'll start hearing about the bugs once my boss starts complaining that nothing's working though
Cause you know, engineers love to push things until they don't work >.>

I quite like 2010, I use it, and I'll sure make the purchase once the retail comes out!
It is kinda like 2007, but said above, with a few UI tweaks, I'm still yet to venture through it though.

There are multiple Office 2010 beta and CTP downloads available from msft and on the 'net. Try them out.
The official beta downloads don't expire until October which shoudl give you plenty of time to decide whether or not to spend the $$$. -
Ok, for all who don't know it.
Office 2010 is the same as Vista <-> Win7 - its virtually the same.
Same menus, same layout.
However:
The main office menu has been reworked - you now get a print preview (Dave told me companies were looking for that?)
It is much faster at starting, I also think its lighter on a powerful computer (I think Office 2007 was more sluggish on my Vaio - at 2,5GHz its not weak, and 4GB RAM + SSD)
Last:
Office 2010 got a 64Bit version and various smaller improvements that you'd need to find out about by yourself - the Preview came with a PDF document to state them all. -
::sigh::
mostly untrue
Office 2010 is a huge jump towards making office 64 bit native. Many of the underlying data structures have been rewritten to be 64 bit clean as well as being fully smp (true multi threading) capable. All of this is documented in technet. That office presents itself to users with a similar gui doesn't mean that there aren't widespread and significant changes.
As long as you persist in judging a program (or os) by its cosmetics you'll continue to be wrong. -
Yeah Office 2010 has an x64 version which is nice
I'll have to mess around more with it when I'm at work, but it does feel a lot more smoother than 2007 or the previous versions did.
