Hey guys
I recently had to do a system restore due to failed updates, and while the restore completed successfully, office 2010 stopped working. This led me to try and uninstall office - which the installer only did partially, and of course it stopped working completely.
I searched around on ms forums, and downloaded and ran the fix it tool - which removed some remaining fragments, also ran cc cleaner etc.
However, now whenever I try and re-install office, after I enter product key and choose what components to install, the installer just crashes on the screen with the progress bar, no warnings or error messages. Afterwards a window pops up saying "office setup has stopped working". Have tried installing in a clean state i.e. with all other (non-ms) services disabled, but no help. Even disabled UAC, did not help either.
Am at my wits end, unsure what the problem is... any one have any suggestions?

thanks buddy, am gonna try these... fingers crossed
Don't want to reformat just coz bloody office won't install -
If makaveli72's excellent suggestions do not help, try copying the install media to your hard drive and and run it from there.

Am worried that a registry key might be broken or something
I re-downloaded office, but for the same reason the installer keeps failing, absolutely mind boggling - other installers for other programs work fine, just the office one...
Sigh, gonna finish up my work on open office, and then might have to re-image windows -
Revo has saved me re loading window more than once -
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
The 30 day trial is free BTW.
