Just bought hp/compaq 6510b and it says under the operating system, "Genuine Windows Vista Business 32/64 Office Ready." Does this mean that the system comes with Vista and Office, or simply that Office is able to be installed once the computer arrives?

My guess is that it's possible to install Office, but it does not come with it.
I ma be wrong, though, since I've never heard of the term. -
Unless you specifically selected the option for MS Office 2007 when you bought it for another $250-350, it won't come with it...HP is definitely not that generous.

It probably means absolutely nothing.

Check your computer, you could have a preinstalled trail version (25 uses) of Office 2007. I recently bought an HP6000 series notebook and the lappy had the trail version of Office 2007 preinstalled. If you wanted to buy it all you have to do is call MS and they'll sell you the key.

They ship the notebook with a pre-installed 60 day trial copy of office 2007, if you decide to buy it you can simply pay and get a key. They say it is easy, no installation required or something like that. What is the big deal
? they have to advertise it as some sort of a special notebook ?? like its designed specially to run office or something ?
that is plain dumb
"Office Ready" what does this mean?
