What do you think? I like it!

I love it!
What a cute commercial...and awww..she's adorable.
Thanks for sharing!
It's true....It's all full of *happy*!!

Looks good. I do really wish sometimes they would go after Apple the way Apple goes after them, but I could see how that could turn out very badly for them, and would be a huge risk.
-
Amazing commercial.
-
Nah. Apple only does that because they are way behind as far as users who use Mac over PC. In other words, they are desperate, MS isn't. I don't see them stooping that low.
-
I don't know how MS could provide something better over a OS X though. They honestly can't make claims that their OS is better, because they would have no facts to back that up. And MS know this. So it would be a very bad decision trying to prove that Windows 7 is better than Snow Leopard, when it's actually true that OS X is better.
-
this add just makes me smile, and what's great about it is that it does so without stooping to bashing other products.
-
LOL. By what objective standard is OS X "better"? This needn't be answered, by the way. I'm just making a point.
As far as the commercial...eh, I'm not enthused. I liked the conceptual ones from the other day better. I'm not so high on the cute kid angle. -

Seriously, Apple's commercials just plain suck. All they do is bash common Windows misconceptions, and most uneducated computer users believe them.
-
I didn't like it very much. But I must say that kid is very cute
-
1. How is OSX objectively better?
2. I would argue the fact that with Windows, you have more options for initial and upgrade hardware, way more options in software, and pretty much only one choice if you want to game or do some other tasks represents a pretty big selling point. Oh, and the fact that it is way cheaper for the same hardware most of the time. And of course the fact that the perf gains in graphics apps that Apple still rides high on are illusory since they switched to x86/x64 arch anyway. But other than all those things, yeah, you are totally right, Mac has all the upside. -

i like how they show all those win7 praise with funky fonts in a presentation with ponies, makes them laugh about themselves, not taking themselves serious, sort of.
so while i don't like the ad per se, i think they're doing the best thing they can: not taking themself serious. and the kid is cute. -
kids cute. commercial is sorta dumb. they should show off more features.
-
well, the commercial was more of a teaser than anything so it does what it should do, excite and capture people's interest.
-
those apple commercials do more harm than good for apple as a company. I would never buy a mac or whatever because of them. They simply make themselves out to be a bunch of pompous dicks.
Nice to see the little kid from the Im a pc ad is still in employment . -
I agree, their elitist attitude and control-freak disposition (think ipod and iphone battery replacement) turn me off big time and pretty much rules out that I would consider their products when making a purchase.
-
Ah, you forget that advertising and marketing is all about framing the issue. It's not about facts and objectivity, but about how you frame the issue (Prolife - antilife vs ProChoice - Anti Choice).
You are thinking like an engineer. Like everything is black and white. In advertising, everything is shades of gray.
All claims about being "better" or "faster" are purely subjective measures than can be presented to the benefit of either side.
I like the direction Microsoft is going. I hated Microsoft's old ads. They looked like the boring powerpoints I see at work. It was formatted like a memo. These are entertaining and definitely more mainstream. -
I did not need to be unexpectedly blasted with The Final Countdown.

Such a great song

Apple does very well among college students, and this really does scare Microsoft.
You and I may agree about this, but nevertheless the Apple commercials are quite effective. And despite being a PC user, I still think they are funny.
Right. Microsoft really just intends to make PC users comfortable with themselves (the "I'm a PC" ads) and with their choice of Windows 7 (now these). -
Only those who need it. Otherwise, I've seen college students get a Mac because of the propaganda ads (especially the air, oh my god, that was sad) then realize that it does not meet their practical needs and then either sell it to a student that would use it or give it to their kid sister to destroy and then go out and buy a PC and be happy.
Just saying.
-
Yeah, we joke that students buy a Mac, but then when they graduate and have to spend their own money, they buy a PC.
A lot like good storytelling, Macs sell an experience. I'm glad Microsoft has started focusing their ads on the experience. Their old ads were like bad powerpoints.
Edit:
Boo, I can only rep two people today. -
I loved the video. I loved reading the comments even more. Apple fans decrying the OS when they have neither used it, nor know anything about it, and claim it is just Vista 2.0.
Wow, could they be more wrong?
They must be angry MS is doing such an awesome job with W7, who knows.
I hope all of the new ad's are like these, and I concur with an earlier statement praising MS for not stooping as low as Apple does in theirs, spouting half truths or full blown lies.
I can't wait to get my W7 Ultimate in the mail.
O Spiffy, I doubt MS is *too* worried about college kids liking Apple. Most of them don't know better, and in college, looks matter more than anything else, trust me. I wouldn't be surprised if half of Apple's 10% market share is college students. Who later buy PC's anyway, when practicality sets in.
Official First TV spot for Windows 7 has hit the airwaves! :D
