    ballsed my notebook up.

Ok so I was trying to perform a "repair" install of XP Home, but I forgot my product key (it's sitting at home whilst I'm at the office).

So I had the bright idea of using a Vista Complete PC Backup I made prior to starting the XP "repair" install, which included the XP partition (I have Vista Ultimate and XP Home dual booting each on it's own separate partition)...

Problem is it's now sitting on "Restoring disk (D: )..." with a full bar and nothing is happening, there is no HDD activity at all, I chose the format option as I though this would be the best way to do it...

The disk is 120GB, the backup took about 69GB according to Vista.

The XP partition was on X: (as far as Vista is concerned), Vista was on C: and D: was a storage partition, it's been sitting doing nothing for about 30 minutes now, should I be worried?

Is it not working because I included an XP partition in the backup?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice, it'll be greatly appreciated as I'm starting to get very nervous and I could really do without doing a complete clean install :(

It doesn't matter if you have to restart the whole process of full system restore again. Try taking the disk out that your currently on and giving it a good clean. I've only ever had problems using complete PC backup when I've had either a dirty or damaged disk.
