Ok, my goal here is to have 2 versions of windows on my laptop. I have 2 500GB drives in my laptop. I want to have a seperate version of windows on each. It's not because I'm bored, I have my reasons i just don't feel like stating them. So NBRers, is it possible to put 2 seperate versions of windows on one laptop? And once i get it, I can choose which one I want to boot to in the BIOS, right?

Yep...it is called dual-booting. Just make sure you install the newest last (if you want XP and Windows 7, install XP first and Windows 7 after). If you want to have 2 installs of Windows 7 install the higher SKU last (i.e. HP first, Pro last).

BTW - on the XP and 7 dual boot, I would make sure you have the 100 MB system partition created first.

it would be win 7 and win 7. (unless you can install 32 bit on a 64 bit processor?)

And also, can you write me an idiotproof step by step? I don't want to mess this up.

..? Nope, as in they're not getting an answer, or you're discouraged to help me without a concise reason why?

You can use the dual boot method as someone suggested but if the bootmgr / BCD gets trashed you will not be able to boot either without repairs. There are alternatives for instance you could install on one drive, remove that drive and install on the other drive then connect the original drive again. This way you could boot either drive from the BIOS and if one drive has become virus infected or will not boot, use the other drive to make repairs.

yes but without knowing your intent there may be limitations and/or the function may not be as you would need. It is hard to make a specific specialized recomendation to such a non specific request. Another issue is what you ask could be used for illegal and/or immoral reasons and this violates the boards TOS...........

Well, ok, fine. My dad uses my computer alot, and I hate having all his stuff all over my desktop. I'd make my own account, but he says if I had my own I wouldn't have administrative privileges. So I asked him if I could do this and he said fine. So there you go. :3?

This is really overkill and would require an additional license key. You can have multiple administrator accounts, just use the User Control Panel and create the account...
