    really bummed about this digging through my software drawers for my new dv2000t i see a shiny xp pro disc i was going to dual boot with vista but i dont think that can happen with out a passcode correct? i dont know where the box is musta lost it while moving because i put all my discs in a spindle. any thing i can do with this disc?

    You'll have to call HP or Microsoft and prove to them that you own a legitimate copy of Windows XP OEM. I forgot what's involved exactly, you may have to take a picture of the underside of your laptop with the serial number and Genuine Windows sticker shown. But call them up, their customer reps should be able to guide you along.

    Is the sticker still under your notebook? It has the activation code.
