To make a long story short one of my pcs is about to give up Home Basic and get a retail Ultimate.
My version of Home Basic is retail upgrade.
The person might be interested because of future games like crysis and stuff.
So, would this be against the EULA?
Obviously I'd hafta call Microsoft about this, but before I do, am I wasting my time?
Furthermore, if I did this, would said person have to enter in Vista key id WHEN they got a new one, and I stopped using it? They probably won't use Vista until Crysis comes out.
And before you ask, no, I'm not going the anytime upgrade route with this one, it's actually better to just get vista ultimate upgrade sadly IMO![]()

I don't think it would be a problem. I'm planning on doing the same with my current copy of Vista when my university gives me a copy in two months.

dont do it! american police officers are standing RIGHT NOW in front of your house waiting for you to commit CRIME by giving your vista copy to a friend. youll be sent to jail or maybe worse - so dont do it.

Depends. If the "someone else" has a copy of XP, then there's no issue, as long as you aren't getting the Ultimate upgrade version, or you have a copy of XP to upgrade from. It's completely within the bounds of the EULA, assuming that your copy of Home Basic isn't an OEM version, which is bound to a certain set of hardware (in theory).
Okay to give Vista to a relative, as long as I give up my copy?
