The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Does anybody here use online storage? If so, what kind do you use? Currently, im using xdrive and its extremely slow when connecting to the servers. Im looking for a better alternative any suggestions? thanks

    I use att/yahoo and they offer an online briefcase to subscribers. Not its not fast but I use it to store a text file with all my passwords on it, and a few files that I can access from anywhere. I have never tried any others, a 1 gig flash drive is dirt cheap now. and alot faster on the transfer. GL

    You could use programs that map your Gmail account as a local HD (but it's really slow). The other free alternative is Mozy
