This is an impossible problem to search for so I hope my post does't piss anyone off.

I have been experiencing this since getting my new M1330 with Vista. When I click on a link that is meant to open a specially sized smaller window with link, it also opens that link in the current window at the same time. So the new window opens and the smaller framed info shows up in the main, regularly sized window too.

I hope this makes sense. I took a screen shot but attachments on here isn't working right now.

How can I stop this from hapening? It's so annoying.

    TIA

    Kristina

    Wow, that's one weird problem.
Does this happen using Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, or any other browser?

    Kristina,

Do you mean that a small window appears on top of the main window, and you have to maximize it every time? Or do you mean that a frame actually appears in the original window with a small browser window inside it?

What browser are you using and what site. This is probably a javascript issue.

    Hey guys.

This is when using IE. I haven't downloaded other browsers because I like to keep things simple and hate having to open something just for one site or another - plus I'm just used to IE.

I've attached a screen shot. This example is from my grad school's website. You're on a calendar page and click on a link to a particular day's item. It then opens a pop-up (which is fine) with the course's information. But then the calendar page loads the link's page as well. So once I'm done with the pop-up, I close it and then have to hit BACK to go back to the calendar, which I've navigated away from with the pop-up in the first place.

In the attachment, I want the pop-up that's on top. But the IE window in the background, I DON'T want it to load the link's page. I want it to STAY PUT.

It's so aggrivating. I hope this is more clear?!

    TIA

    Kristina

You're using IE7 - just configure your tabs to work the way you want. Under Tools, select Internet Options. In the General tab, find the Tabs section, then click the Settings button. Make sure Enable Tabbed Browsing is enabled, then tick these options: Enable Quick Tabs, Open new tabs next to the current tab, Always open pop-ups in a new tab, A new tab in the current window.

    See if that helps.
