Haven't used Opera in years. Is it still "heavy" as in not "light weight". The UI was too big and cluttered for me, but I will give it a look to see what has changed.
-
the UI is fully customizable/skinnable. Opera maintains a huge library of user skins on opera.com accessible directly through the browser.

I <3 Opera.
I have Firefox just for the occasional thing that Opera doesn't support, but I can't see myself using anything else regularly. -
I just tested it out for a little bit, and I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a ton more "space" for the web pages and its a lot quicker than I remember. I will need more time to check out all the smaller aspects, but my first impressions are very good.

For the month or so I tried it, Chrome always seemed slow to me. YMMV.
Firefox simply uses way to much system to support plugins (including things such as flash).
Opera seems to be in the middle. It also has as native functionality a lot of things that firefox requires addons for. Since Opera v10 came out I'm using MSIE a lot less then I used to for sites that use Ceridian and Taleo for job and resume boards.
When reading posts about browsers (and word processors and games, etc) when you find people focusing on their like/dislike of ONE feature (ad blocking, ribbon bars, etc, etc), they aren't really interested in discussing alternatives. -

I use Opera and it was the first browser that i felt confortable after some Netscape in 90's.

I'm liking Opera Unite a lot. I can now easily stream my music from any other computer with Opera installed - and since I'm making my friends try Opera out, that number is increasing -
I want to go back to Opera for its unite feature, but then I remember that nobody I know uses Opera, nor do I think they will switch to it. Unless Opera can do some fantastic marketing job for Opera so my friends can switch and we can use unite.
BTW Opera Mobile 10 beta for WM is is pretty good. I wonder if they will add unite to it also.
