This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Opera Not Opening Sites

    I just installed Opera 9.51 on my friend's computer and for some reason no websites work in Opera anymore. It says "Could not connect to remote server"

    Any suggestions?

    Yeah I've been going thru the help site but no luck

    All I did was upgrade from an older version. It was working fine before the upgrade :(

    yep. I'm using IE now. FF and Opera are a no go though....

    She didn't have a firewall. I'm not sure what it was, but she was messing around in msconfig > services, so I just used system restore and everything is ok now. Thanks for the help

    . backup current personal settings
    . delete ur opera6.ini (or opera.ini) file
    . restart Opera
