When I click a new tab on Opera, how do I set it up to launch a new tab that loads my Home Page, as opposed to a blank tab?

Wow, that's a really great question. Not even sure if that's possible. You'd probably get a better answer if you register and post in the Opera community forums.

I don't think he was asking about how to get his homepage to display on startup. Sounds more like he want's to know how to get his hompage to show up when he launches a new tab with the browser already running.

I'm not sure you can change the "blank" default, but you could easily put a HomePage icon on your Main toolbar. Or on your Personal bar. Assigning it to your keyboard works well too. The keyboard shortcut would be "Cntrl T" for a new tab and then "Cntrl Spacebar" to open the Homepage.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I will register on the opera forums.

I missed that part about Firefox.

    Go to preferences>advanced>shortcuts.
Select a keyboard setup, click edit.
Search for the entry "new page" change it to "New page&Go to homepage".
Do this for whichever shortcut you use to open a new tab.

Slick solution! Hopefully they will make things like this a little more automated for the average joe in 9.1 (or 9.0.1, or whatever the next update will be called).

If you're more inclined to using a button to open a new tab, you can add the following button to your toolbar.
ButtonX, "New"=New page, , , "New" & Go to homepage

You can add buttons to your toolbar by opening the .ini file of your toolbar setup and adding the above line to [Customize Toolbar Custom.content] section, or to a specific toolbar if you know its name. When you do add it, change the 'X' to the next consecutive button number in that section of the .ini file. The next time you start Opera, you will find the button available under My Buttons when you right click on a toolbar and click Customize...

You can get a whole bunch of custom Opera buttons at the
    OperaWiki
    TTT-Buttons
    S&R Buttons
    and
    here

I've personally got rid of almost all buttons on Opera by using mouse gestures and Go to shortcuts. The minimalistic look is addictive...
