Do you mean opinions?
I don't think there's anything wrong with Vista (UAC is iffy though).

Okay why?
See, my problem with people who hate Windows Vista, now that most of the driver issues have been worked out or forgotten, is they hate it for two reasons - at once. First they say that there's nothing new, nothing worth upgrading, not enough features aped from apple - it's too much like XP with extra bloat. Then they complain that it's too different, that they don't like everything that's been changed, and they want Vista to act more like XP.
The problem is they want an OS that looks and acts exactly like Windows XP, but is totally, radically different in every conceivable way.
I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope Microsoft doesn't decide to scrap Windows as we know it now, and replace it with a moderately modified UNIX OS - with a slick user interface. -
A lot of people hate Vista, but haven't used it. They still assume that it is just as bad as it was a year ago. Plus they see Apples very effective and very annoying commercials.

For personal use, it's fine, as long as you have a computer up to the task. However, I've heard many gripes from IT professionals about using Vista in a workplace environment.

I agree with you guys....if you pay a lot more to get VISTA....then it's not worth upgrading (I remember the time people say it's not worth upgrading to XP because it eats more RAM).....but why pay more to downgrade.....when u can get the newer VISTA which is now more stable and will be more stable like XP as time pass by...the only annoying thing is UAC which can be solved easily...the only annoying thing about VISTA to me is the people who complains about it.

I never managed to understand people who hate vista or who keep coming up with numerous complaints against it...
I mean, as of now, so many things have been ironed out with Vista and its nice, its fast, its very user friendly (albeit with turning off a few controls n warnings, for people who wanna be just sure they dont mess up their system, its not a big deal), its very well organized, lots of articles out there for help (if needed), a very good Vista Support from Microsoft (personal experience), very nice and beautiful interface to work with..... I am saying this after moving over to Vista myself from XP (worked with XP and previous windows version for approx. 10 years, as well as working with Linux for close to 5 years simultaneously), and I don't think many of the opinions are generalized to be believed - they are just individual opinions, tastes and what not... I don't believe there is real reason as such to have a mass hate Vista campaign.
Each have their own good... XP was good, Linux was great and I am not saying no, but Vista isn't bad either, and IMHO, its equally good at the least.. and some times even better.. Anyways.. to each his own
And in any case, I dont think M$ is going to keep sticking with XP for the rest of its lifeAs they phased out office 2002, for example, I am sure after a while XP would have the same fate.. and with the new Windows 7 and Midori and things coming out, I think its only sensible for us users to show some adaptability and accommodating habits to get used to this new version and not keep talking how good the past was
