You know that there are so many Optimizing Utilities for Vista, even too much, but what is the best one?
    i have found Yamicsoft's Vista Manager http://www.yamicsoft.com/vistamanager/index.html
    is it good?
or should we just not bother about these Opt.Utilities?

As i've been telling you over PM, i don't trust those all in one vista problem solvers. I do things separately, and individually. Now i run 500mb with 1% processor usage after i boot up. I like the NBR Vista Tips and Tweaks Guide.

Thanks Cal and that thread is probably the best you will find on the net, whether your looking at paid or free. I have recently been asked to grant translation into yet another language for another site which NBR so kindly granted.

It is truly a world famous thread.

I have that yamicoft program and one thing about it that got me was that vista thinks your computer only has 256kb of l2 cache, with the program I was able to let vista know that I have 512+512kb l2 cache[1mb]. another thing about it is the registry defrag. no clue how to do that manually.

Another thing i don't like about these is that they aren't free. If you pay for it and it turns out to be crap, what do you do?

I use an excellent free program called Mz Vista Force!

It has many tweak features and an excellent help file to tell you about each tweak so that you don't do anything wrong!
