How can I get the optimum app to think that my external monitor is the laptop's display when it is connected via HDMI?

I would rather watch TV on my 21.5" than my 15.6" and their disregard for my specific situation is annoying me.

So can I get windows to report my external monitor as an internal monitor or is that not a possible simulation?

I don't think you understand but the program detects that im using an external monitor and doesn't let me watch tv. Or maybe I don't understand am I supposed to hold those buttons right after I press the power button?
