Ordered new laptop, is there a software to "get rid of" all added Dell software crap?

Im getting a new laptop and I want to start fresh with nothing added in terms of extra bloatware.

I know long time ago I found a progrma that uninstalls everything other than the OS so you can start fresh. Does anyone know what this program is called or a similiar program?

I'd really recommend a fresh reinstall.

There is an excellent step-by-step guide in the Dell forum. It's stickied near the top.

Yes, the same logic would apply to any make/model. I just got a Dell and did a clean install and it is running great. I little time consuming, but well worth the wait.

You will have a better experience starting fresh than trying to "remodel" a current install. Basically you'll need an OS cd+key and drivers (available from manufacturers' website)

Insert CD, boot to it, reinstall windows & then install drivers.

PC Decrapifier is probably what you need.

CCleaner is a very good program, but it's Uninstall section is pretty much the Add/Remove of Windows in control panel. CCleaner is good for everything else (clearing cookies, internet cache, passwords, etc)
