So my brother just got this insane new computer that he built with two hard drives but we are a little confused on how to use it. One is a 120gb ssd msata OS drive and the other is a 1tb ssd. does he need to install software to the OS drive for them to run or can he install everything on his main drive? we just want to make sure we don't screw anything up since we are new to high end computers.
    Thanks

It's a question of space/speed. If you overfill the small SSD, it could run very slowly.

I would suggest maybe putting all the games on the larger storage drive, and other programs on the OS drive, so they can load quickly, but any arrangement/mix should work.

A 120 GB SSD isn't alot. I had a 256 MSATA SSD in my laptop. I have upgraded to a 1TB MSATA Samsung Evo 840 for 439 on sale. That's amazing as the first SSD I bought 3 years ago i got on sale from a little over a dollar a GB.

even installing the OS and a few programs would soon deteriorate the performance of that 120GB SSD since TRIM won't have enough space to do the garbage collection and revive the performance. Install the games + programs on the 1 TB SSD obviously. ANY SSD would be super fast compared to an HDD so don't bother that it's an mSATA SSD and may have a bit lower performance than the normal SSD. Chances are, that 1 TB SSD is actually higher in performance than the smaller 1 TB SSD!

Run AS SSD Benchmark on both of them and post a screenshot of the results!
