    I have an xxodd 8252d version and i wish to upgrade to 64 bit vista since i have 4gb ram in this laptop and a turbo cache in which are being a waste because of the 32bit cap :(

    The only problem i have is if my drivers would support vista 64-bit...in the manual they mention these

    Microsoft Windows* Server 2003
    Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition*
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition*
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Microsoft Windows 2000
    Microsoft windows Vista

    This is the driver version.i think the only compatibility issued i would have is with the intel driver since the others are just lan drivers and g-card drivers in which would not give me any problems to install on 64bit (i think)

    (* Product: Intel(R) Chipset Device Software
    * Release: Production Version
    * Version: 8.2.0.1012
    * Target Chipset#: 965M
    * Date: December 28 2006 )

    have u tried to look under Mitac or Clevo forums?

    many users had success in using XP64bits drivers and manually install them thru device managers under Vista

    cheers ...

    Actually, I believe the xxodd 8252d is a Mitac laptop.

    well i found some info on that site but the only thing said about the intel chipset driver is that it supports windows vista doesnt mention 32 bit and 64 ...bdw i was thinking...my laptop came with 4gb ram and a chipset that supports 4gb ram and a cpu that supports 64bit too..so why wouldnt they make the drivers compatible with 64bit?

    What do you think if i try to just google the chipset drivers and see what version they are?or maybe should i just search for driver from the control pannel of windows vista?

    ur system is 64bits ready. issue is device drivers availability. not the chipset driver. as mentioned above, u can just search for XP64 bits drivers and then manually install them via device manager under Vista

    cheers ...

    what you mean install xp drivers on a vista platform?:S i have never done that before :(

    Don't you think that device manager could locate driver automatically and install them for me? (excluding sound card drivers and video card drivers)
