Sooo, I've had Outlook 2003 POP linked to my gmail account for a few years now.

I usually check email via Outlook on my laptop at home but occasionally, I will check gmail at work or when I'm traveling from another computer that does not have my outlook on it.

I just recently noticed...(no settings have been changed on gmail webmail settings OR outlook 2003 settings either) that email I check on gmail first (before it has a chance to download to outlook 2003) AND delete does not end up making its way into outlook 2003 when i finally do open outlook 2003. it will only download the new messages on gmail in inbox or archive, but not if i had deleted it on gmail first.

Does this make sense? I dont think it used to do this since I am pretty sure that previously, whether I deleted it on gmail or not first, outlook would still get every message sent to me.

    Please help!!

    Thanks!
    Cory :)

This isn't a Windows issue - sounds like Google changed the way Gmail POP works. Have you checked the Gmail website for news?

i havent seen any annoucements about Gmail changing out POP works

the only thing that has changed the past week for me is i moved from a comcast internet to a cox internet but i highly doubt that would have anything to do with this issue, right?

if anyone else knows of this issue or how to fix it or if gmail DID indeed change how POP works for outlook clients...please let me know, thanks!!!!

Why not just use IMAP and then you don't have to worry about any of these issues?
