Just put in a new hard drive and new os (Win 7).
How do I get the email address autofill back?
Im using Microsoft Exchange; are the .dat, .srs and .pst files automatically backed up or do I have to go get this info off my old drive?

When you say autofill i'm guessing you mean when you create a new email message in Outlook and you begin to type someone's email address in the To: or CC: section nothing appears...that's because you're now using a different HDD. You will have to rebuild those email addresses. Sadly!
Yes, what you were supposed to do was backup your data from the old HDD. By going File --> Import and Export... and export the file to a .PST file. You choose what you want to back, back it up to a ext. HDD or USB drive and import the backup .PST file on your new OS and HDD.
Even with the backup contacts and inbox etc. I still believe you would need to rebuild your autofill contacts by going to To: and sending an email to the person. After you send an email to the person they will be remembered by autofill. -
Im not 100% sure, but I remember importing another file (either a .dat or.srs) into a an holder hard drive and getting all my email address-autofills back.
I just dont know how to export/import those files. -

Thanks! -
.nk2 file contains your autofill, you need to restore it.

Well, I seem to be having a problem.
First off, which folder am I placing the n2k file in? I have three folders under AppData; Local, Local Low and Roaming.
I found my new n2k file under roaming and replaced it with the file from my old oulook/drive.
Still no autofill... -
Scratch my last post guys...
I needed to change the name of the n2k file to match my new Outlook profile.
I then deleted the new one (the one with no info in it) and reopened Outlook.
All good! -
Glad to hear that worked! You can also press ctrl+k when you're typing in something in the "To" field and it will search your contacts and give you auto-fill suggestions.
