I have started using Firefox as my browser. I want links in my outlook 2007 messages to open Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

How do I do this. The only things I can find about this on the web is for older versions of programs and the help doesnt apply as the menus are different.

    Any ideas?

    thanks!

Go to 'tools' 'options' a box will open and at the bottom it will say about making ff the default browser.

ok, I didnt see anything except under advanced that says "check at startup to see if FF is default" and then theres a Check NOW button. If I click that button, it said "no" and asked me if I want to make it the default browser. So I did it that way but didnt find the setting to just change it.

    But that worked!!
    thanks everyone!!

what version of windows are you running? another way you can check is to open up the start menu and go to "default programs"

there you can select "set default programs" and choose what program opens what sort of things.

Im using FF 3.0.6 and Windows Vista.

Its not working. I mean, I have FF set to check every time I open it, but I shouldnt have to do that, and it is indeed "taken away" once I open IE explorer again and maybe other times. Whatever the case, I cant seem to keep it my default. I do not see the item to check in post #4.

I went to "set default programs" and went to FF in there and said "set this program as default" but it didnt work.

    Anyone?

Basically to sum up. Firefox wont STAY as my default browser. I want links in outlook to open to Firefox.

    Im using FF 3.0.6

I cant find a setting in FF other than one that "checks" every time I open FF and re-allocates it as a default at my confirmation.

I have tried setting all defaults on the FF entry in Vistas "Default Programs"
but that didnt seem to change anything.

    thanks in advance!
