What is up with this? I'm pretty new to outlook but wouldnt mind using it. I'm trying to attach my Livemail account to it but it turns out I need a paid account to do this. This is obviously a cash grab. The account I need to make these Microsoft products work together costs $40/month! Thats $480/year just to sync email and calendar information!!! I feel pretty burnt by Microsoft considering how easy it would be for them to make these compatible. Not only that, but you have to pay for outlook in the first place! Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?

Windows Mail Desktop lets you sync with it.

It's not just about syncing with live mail, it's about syncing with everything else. Unfortuneately Outlook seems to be the prevailing champion for productivity and organization. My pda will sync with outlook but I highly doubt it will sync with the Live Mail Desktop... then again, I could be wrong. Anyone know of anything else I can do?

Yahoo mail plus is only 20 bucks a year and Outlook works with it. I tried to use Outlook with regular, free Yahoo mail, but it didn't work.

How old is your Live account? I believe Microsoft pulled the free Outlook service back in 2004 for new subscribers. I believe if you registered after 2004/2005(not sure fo the date) then you will have to pay for access through outlook.

You can use Yahoo free mail with outlook by downloading a 3rd party app called "YPops". It's spyware free, and runs completely in the background. This allows you to download all of your Yahoo mail through Outlook. It's pretty customizable too. Check it out!

I'm wondering if somebody makes a similar app for Live mail accounts. Also, I must have made my hotmail account before that change. I can use Outlook with hotmail just fine, but I do remember reading about the change.
