Hi
I am thinking of outputting my notebooks desktop to a 22 inch TV, problem is that it doesn't have a VGA input, it does however have a component output (red/green/blue colored sockets for the corresponding RCA plugs).
How do I find out if my video card will output via component from the VGA output port?
The GPU is an nVidia Geforce GO 6100, but I'm also getting a notebook with an nvidia Geforce 9600M GS on it (and Asus M70VM when the company I'm buying from gets it from Asus...)
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.![]()

A 7-pin s-video output is required for component, thats what I used to use. Components adaptors usually do standard AV as well so I just use that now. VGA is pretty much incompatible with everything else I'm afraid without the use of special equipment which degrades the signal to the point of it only being useful for slideshows. Your 9600M should do 7pin s-video though, my 7500LE has 4-pin and my 8400M GS has 7-pin. It will depend on the manufacturers customization, look up the model online and you'll find it soon enough. Ebay is a good place to find component adaptors

Er ok, how come I found VGA > component cables just by searching on google, or are they component output into a VGA input?

Apparently I stand corrected. Those should work. I know VGA to Composite is incompatible.
Sorry about that.
