    Are there any hacks for Windows that allow to modify the touchpad? Registry hacks maybe? Or some sort of software?

    What exactly do you want the touchpad to do?

    For example:
    Scroll down when I use 2 fingers like Macs
    Open Start when I tap lower left corner like Thinkpads

    That would be awesome. Unfortunately I doubt most PC touchpads are able to do multi touch.

    Most touchpad drivers allow for...
    1) Horizontal and Vertical Scroll Areas
    2) Using all four corners and assign special 'functions' to them.

    Control Panel->Mouse

    If you can navigate to the 'Device Settings', select the touchpad, then hit 'Settings' you'll find those options.

    i love how i could tap the lower left corner to get the start menu. However this is possible with most trackpads as greg mentioned. You just have to select the tap zone and choose the option to duplicate keystrokes(the windows button in this case)

    i have a dv2500 i can set the top left hand corner and top right hand corner to do functions but the only funcions are: shortcut menu, auto scroll, easy launch, easy capture those are kind of useless for me is there anyway to get different functions there?

    Hey thanks for the info! I disabled my Synaptics as the touchpad worked without it. Now I see that there are numerous settings to be had, enabling page scrolling, etc. That's great!

    Have you even looked at the options of the Synaptic touch pad? All those mentioned are built in.. no need for a hack. Sometimes what you want is already in front of your face.

    its like on an apple macbook, you can use two fingers, anywhere on the pad, to scroll. IMO, its much more convenient than side scrolling..
