Are there any hacks for Windows that allow to modify the touchpad? Registry hacks maybe? Or some sort of software?

For example:
Scroll down when I use 2 fingers like Macs
Open Start when I tap lower left corner like Thinkpads -
that would be a great hack, I'd be interested in one if it existed
-
That would be awesome. Unfortunately I doubt most PC touchpads are able to do multi touch.

Most touchpad drivers allow for...
1) Horizontal and Vertical Scroll Areas
2) Using all four corners and assign special 'functions' to them.
Control Panel->Mouse
If you can navigate to the 'Device Settings', select the touchpad, then hit 'Settings' you'll find those options. -
i love how i could tap the lower left corner to get the start menu. However this is possible with most trackpads as greg mentioned. You just have to select the tap zone and choose the option to duplicate keystrokes(the windows button in this case)

i have a dv2500 i can set the top left hand corner and top right hand corner to do functions but the only funcions are: shortcut menu, auto scroll, easy launch, easy capture those are kind of useless for me is there anyway to get different functions there?

Have you even looked at the options of the Synaptic touch pad? All those mentioned are built in.. no need for a hack. Sometimes what you want is already in front of your face.
-
any way to do this?

They got double finger scrolling working in Ubuntu on ANY synaptics trackpad... most laptops come with synaptics trackpads. Anyway on getting this hack to work in Windows or OSX86? -

Synaptics ( http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm) does the trick. Not sure about the two fingered scrolling though.
-
The OP wants Multi tap feature on his Synaptics Touchpad which is not possible.
But Scrolling n all are already present.. even ClickLock is present which allows u to drag a window without using Buttons -
-
it's possible if it worked on Ubuntu.. Just need someone to code a hack
-
After much trial and error, I got 2-finger scrolling under Mac OSX86 Leopard on my Dell XPS m1330:
