i have connected my pc to an LCD tv using DVI to HDMI cable.
but when i turn off the tv and power it on again it doesn't detect the signal and the windows os doesn't come back to screen.

i want to turn off only the tv when i'm not using but still leave the pc running.
is this a tv problem or settings in windows?

I think you can press Fn+F7/F8 to switch the display back to your laptop LCD Display :D

Which video card are you using? You should have the settings available to you in their control panel. Or as vinumsv said, you can manually use FN + F8 and it will toggle through.
