Hi! I was trying to install PCMark05 on my Vista Home Premium, however a message came up asking me to install DirectX 9.0, because some of the components of teh benchmark program require DX9. I know that Vista has DX10, so is it safe to regress back to DX9? Will it hurt my system's performance in any way? After going to DX9, can I upgrade back to DX10? Is it possible, or are there any other ways to run PCMark05 that I can go about without degrading DX 10 to DX 9?

    Thanks!

(Also, when an old game like Quake 4 asks to install DX9, and if I do, will that have any sideffects? Will the newly installed DX9 replace the DX10 or will it just be installed right next to it?)

I have had no side effects with loading DX9 on a number of Vista machines.
