I've just upgraded to 3Gb RAM on my HP nc6320..any ideas what would be the ideal pagefile setting? 4000Mb+ as suggested by XP seems a bit over the top.

    Cheers.

I've got mine turned off. It depends on what you usually run.

Azureus, Maxthon and Newsbin Pro are the most used. All of which can run heavy.

xp (and vista) has come a long way. Leave it to the OS to manage the pagefile if u r not short on disk space

    cheers ...

I also thought 4GB was over the top. I recommend with 3GB of RAM you should set and allocate 256MB min to 2GB max.

I can play LOTRO with Firefox, Outlook, Pidgin, IE, and Putty running on 3GB of RAM with no page file. Yeah a 4GB page file is over the top.

Just leave it alone. There's no point in messing with it.
