Anyone know how to make Paint.NET save as JPG instead of PNG by default?

And anyone know how to add a slide or blank screen with text on it in the middle of a video without loading the video twice in Windows Live Movie Maker?

    Not sure about movie maker.

    Not sure about Paint.net.
But in Windows Paint, if you add .jpeg at the end of the filename you are saving, Paint will automatically save it as a jpeg, instead of whatever filetype is showing in the dropbox.

you might post that in the paint.net forum to contact the developer. the option would be nice, depending on usage.
