    Hi,

I've read somewhere that partitioning your drive can boost performance..

like making a seperate partition for Windows, and another one for your programs/music/whatever..

How much of a performance boost is it? and is it worth it?

If it is worth it, what is an easy to use (newbie friendly) software that can do it for me? or is there something in Windows XP that does it for u?

    Thanks

I didn't notice any performance gain when I do it. The reason I do it is becasue if I keep all my data like software, photos, mp3s, etc on the second partition. That way if I need to delete the 1st partition to re-install Windows, I can do it without losing any data on the second one. When you install Windows, it should ask whether you to create any paritions or use the whole drive. If you want to use a boot disk, you can boot into DOS and use Fdisk. After Windows is intalled, Parition Magic can create new paritions where there is only one. Good Luck.
