In a technology seminar I go to every year, one of the instructors always recommends Password Depot and he goes into the encryption lecture.

I have been looking around at getting some sort of Password Manager and keep recalling this presentation. BTW, I like this guy so his word holds merit with me.

As I am searching around the internet I see that this product doesn't seem to get a lot of attention, like say, Roboform.

Does anybody have any opinions or experience with this product or anything that does the same thing that they can recommend? I see that there are many free ones out there. Of course, I don't want to pay more than I need to but I always feel like "you get what you pay for".

Do you need an online-only PW manager? Firefox has a master password; otherwise I will try to think of the name of a program that someone I know uses.

I don't really get what could be so terribly complex-you put in a master password and it reveals all of your logins and their associated codes, right?

Firefox is for web passwords only. Roboform is pretty good but it annoyed me after a while. I would recomend getting a finger print scanner.

Yes, I want it for online.

I don't think it terribly complex either. I just want to make sure that it is secure. I mean you put ALL of your ids, pins, passwords, etc. into this program so I want to make sure it is secure. User-friendly is, of course, nice too.

Take a look at KeepPass Password Safe. I use it regularly and it has the added benefit of being portable, so you can throw a copy of your DB and KeePass.exe on your USB Flash drive for access to your passwords. There are a ton of features but my favorite three are: it's secure (see their security implementation methods here), it's portable, and it's open-source freeware.

At the very least give it a try. Use it on some crummy website you don't care about (e.g. dummy gmail accounts) and see if you like it. Once you begin to use it more, you'll probably start depending on it much like myself. BTW here's a review of it I googled.
