I just installed Perfectdisk 10. In the past I had a trial version of Pefectdisk 2008 (v9) which was great. The trial ran out - so I went to Raxco to purchase a key and found that a version 10 was released. I uninstalled 2008, installed 10, and now Perfect disk freezes during disk analyzing at 5%.

It hangs, and when I press the stop button all drop down menu access freezes as well. I have to end the process in task manager.

Is there a problem, a bug with the new version ?

    thanks Corey

I have been using PD 10 on both XP Pro SP3 and W7b 7000 without any troubles on two different notebooks (one with SATA other with PATA)

Are you running the latest build of version 10 (I think it is build 100). Go into perfectdisk and try running the check for updates function.

I'm running XP SP3. Yup, it is build 100 .

I tried uninstalling perfect disk 10, and at first it would not let me because PD Engine, and PD Agent were still in use even after I forced quit.

I went into Windows/System 32 / Drivers and deleted them manually, rebooted, then uninstalled Pefect disk, Ran CC leaner to get rid of any unused registery , RE-installed Pefect disk 10 ---- and still the same hang problems...

Guess I should send an inquiry to Raxco...

Yep...call or email Raxco...they are pretty good at resolving problems...first rate company. I don't buy very much software, but PD and Bitdefender will always be :D

    Interesting...

I emailed Raxco and their representative "Greg," suggested I uninstall my anti-virus software temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. SO I uninstalled KIS 2009 and lo and behold, Perfect disk now works like a charm.

I reinstalled KIS 2009 back onto my machine, and Perfect disk is still working.

Weird why this happened. Any ideas ?

Probably the "real time data scanner" frm your antivirus is preventing the perfect disk from working.
