Is there a reason you don't have updated OP with correct XTU version? Intel Extreme Tuning Utility v6.3.0.54 Tired, or maybe you should go up from 4.2 to 4.3GHz? Release Date: 7/7/2017
    https://downloadmirror.intel.com/24075/eng/XTU-6_3-MR-ReleaseNotes.pdf

    Defect Fixes:

    1. 1504531317: [XTU] [SKX] Remove dependency between - Core Voltage and Per-Core Voltage Target, Core Voltage Offset and Per Core Voltage Offset.

    2. 1604401485: [XTU] [SKX] Per core voltage target can be tuned independently. If any per core voltage target is tuned above package core voltage and applied and then user clicks on Hide Advanced button then highest voltage of per core voltage target needs to be proposed to package voltage.

    3. 1604401508: [XTU] [SKX] Per core voltage offset can be tuned independently. If any per core voltage offset is tuned above package core voltage offset and applied and user clicks on Hide Advanced button then highest voltage of per core voltage offset needs to be proposed to package voltage offset.

    4. 1604401514: [XTU] If the user tunes any of per core ratio greater than 1 active core ratio, then no need to tune all per ratios and all active core ratio to the user tuned ratio, instead only 1 active ratio should be tuned to the user tuned ratio.

    5. 1604401537: [XTU] On Tuning Core voltage/Core voltage offset - only Core Voltage/Core voltage offset should be applied to system. P-code will automatically update per core voltage target/offset. Upon Apply button click per core voltage target/offset data will get refreshed.

    6. 1604401519: [XTU] [SKL] [KBL] MMIO write removed for SKL and KBL if 1 Active core is tuned

@Papusan: Can you post your max package of 6700k CPU under full load using TS bench 32m for 8/16 threads, for me 6700HQ max package power is below 35W even after uninstalling DPTF and enabling CPU performance mode.

    iTunes updated to v12.6.2

    qBittorrent updated to v3.3.14

    ExperienceIndexOK updated to v1.23

Intel Driver Update Utility removed from the list as it's a piece of garbage that never finds any driver updates AND what's worse, it is wrongly detecting that my IRST Driver v15 is older and wants to replace it with the Intel Chipset Drivers v10.1.14, yeah? and how will my RAID 0 array work then?

It needs Java and uses another piece of software from System Reqmts. Lab which rarely works.
If you want bleeding edge uncut and generic updated drivers follow http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php?lang=en
Are you using updated IRST driver from intel or custom ones from MSI?

I posted the latest IRST Driver when they were released and it destroyed my OS I had to restore a backup image. The laptop was stuttering and freezing. I have a RAID 0 setup. I learned to never touch these drivers unless they were coming straight from the manufacturer.

And I wouldn't touch a driver from Station Drivers even if you paid me.

2 years back I installed an IRST updated driver from Station Drivers, then used my computer and all was ok. Everytime I would start a video, it would like lag for 5 seconds until the video started. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong. I kept changing nVIDIA Drivers, no help. It turned out to be that buggy Station Driver IRST that I installed.

Updating to the latest driver will never give you anything to talk home about and may only introduce issues. The only drivers I update are Audio and VGA drivers.

    Be smart...be like Phoenix...

Wut? You're not updating your other drivers except Audio and VGA drivers? Wut about LAN, Wireless, Bluetooth, Intel Chipset, Synaptic touchpad (which btw mine is now borken after that last update we did on TV so I reverted back to the old one), Intel Management Engine and other MSI utilities.

As for IRST crapping on you, did try disabling Link Power Management?

I almost smack my laptop the first time I played games on it, constant freezing for about 5-10 seconds, then again after a few minutes, lots of stuttering as well but when I disabled LPM everything is back to normal.

I'm not saying I am facing this now, that was 2 years ago.

Here are my RAID 0 settings:

Data Stripe Size = 128K (which is the best for SSDs since they write data in 64K blocks, so when you add 2 SSDs in a RAID 0 array, they write in 128K blocks, got this from MSI tech support)

My biggest problem in regards to updating drivers to the latest version is that the laptop manufacturer (MSI) support page: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GT80S-6QE-Titan-SLI.html no longer update most of the drivers and finding the correct driver version outside of that page is a bit tricky, I tried Intel site and softpedia and downloaded newer version of drivers for the following:

    - Intel Chipset Driver
    - ENE Radio Switch for Airplane Mode
    - Synaptics TouchPad Driver (I used Phoenix latest driver but it broke the touchpad of my GT80S, so I rolledback to the old driver version and that fixed it)
    - Realtek Card Reader Driver
    - Intel Management Engine Driver
    - Intel Thunderbolt Driver

But I'm having two thoughts installing those newer drivers that I just downloaded from Softpedia and Intel, one reason is that I'm not sure if its really the correct driver version, etc. etc.

I'm also going to clean install Windoze X Crapfree Edition and don't want to potentially ruining everything by installing the newer drivers that I found outside of MSI page. So since MSI did not update those drivers should I just stick to what they posted on their site?

This could be an option for yoo www.pci-z.com + the mentioned links above.

Edit. Always backup your new clean OS (before you install any drivers). You can test what will works. If you run into problems, go back and start all over again with the clean OS backup.

just grab the latest driver from a newer model from MSI. Never download drivers from SoftPedia

Here is where I get the latest drivers, most of them are the same and work on our laptops:

You can skip intel MEI and IRST because simply the UI version is updated and not the actual low level hardware version, it is usually tied to BIOS update.
As for Synaptic driver use your old driver's inf file, identify your machine specific ids. Selectively copy the features you need from newer driver's inf and voila it works with 60% success rate. Make sure, you take an image of the entire system before proceeding. I tried it on my lenovo to get reverse scroll feature.
If you don't want that, then download from MSI's updated gaming laptops that are similar to yours except your CPU model. I'm using 15 r3 day 1 synaptic driver which fixed unusual stutter whilst scrolling.
As for TB3, 16.2.205 is the latest OEM driver, even 15 r3 driver will work.

@Papusan: I was about to post Fernando's Win-raid forum. I thought @Phoenix already read that and i didn't want to look stupid. Very good forum, where Fernando helped people(me included) who had mysterious high count of unsafe shutdown counts in HWINFO after installing installing samsung nvme drivers on OEM PCIe SSDs.

It is pretty much what you see in @Phoenix video, the install procedure is changed, but the system itself is pretty much the same

A LOT of the default values are better now, much less customization needed.

It is WAAAAAY more stable now and it works smoother, generally everything is better now.

Not sure if the enterprise version sports the same install or default values, but the W10Pro does if you download the latest they have and it is pretty sweet for the most part. You might be pleased to hear that the whole install process now takes far less time and you won't have as many problems doing it as you probably would had had before :)

    Windows 10 KB4032188 Cumulative Update

This Cumulative Update updates Windows 10 Redstone 2 to Build 15063.502

    Download = http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4032188

The release fixes many issues that Windows 10 version 1703 users may have run into. Microsoft did patch major issues in this release, for instance one issue where device drivers were not loading, a stability issue of USB host controllers that would no longer respond to attached peripherals, a MP4 video playback issue in Edge, and a memory leak on network bridge setups.

The full list of changes is attached below. You find additional information on the Microsoft Support website.

    • Addressed issue that causes a Microsoft Installer (MSI) application to fail for standard (non-admin) users when installed on a per user basis.
    • Addressed issue to enable support in the DevDetail Configuration Service Provider (CSP) to return the UBR number in the D part of the SwV node.
    • Addressed issue where NTFS sparse files were unexpectedly truncated (NTFS sparse files are used by Data Deduplication—deduplicated files may be unexpectedly corrupted as a result). Also updated chkdsk to detect which files are corrupted.
    • Addressed issue where the IME pad was not launching correctly in the Microsoft Edge browser for certain markets.
    • Addressed issue to allow Win32 applications to work with various Bluetooth LE devices including head tracking devices.
    • Addressed issue in the Mobile Device Manager Enterprise feature to allow headsets to work correctly.
    • Addressed issue where device drivers are not loading.
    • Addressed a reliability issue when playing specific types of spatial sound content.
    • Addressed issue with a dropped key on Microsoft Surface Keyboard and Microsoft Surface Ergo Keyboard, and addressed Wacom active pen connection failures.
    • Addressed issue to improve stability for USB type C during device arrival and removal during system power changes.
    • Addressed USB host controller issue where the host controller no longer responds to the attached peripherals.
    • Addressed MP4 compatibility issue while playing content from a social media site in Microsoft Edge.
    • Addressed issue with audio headsets connected to a PC through Xbox 360 controllers.
    • Addressed a reliability issue with launching a Settings app while another application is using the camera device concurrently.
    • Addressed issue with notifications (SMS, Calendar) for an activity tracker.
    • Addressed issue with video playback artifacts during transitions from portrait to landscape on mobile devices.
    • Addressed issue with Skype calls becoming unresponsive after about 20 minutes when using Bluetooth headsets with Hands-Free Profile (HFP) connections with negotiated mSBC codec (Wideband Speech).
    • Addressed issue where a service using a Managed Service Account (MSA) fails to connect to the domain after an automatic password update.
    • Addressed issue where, in some cases, a drive that utilizes on-drive hardware encryption would not automatically unlock at system startup.
    • Addressed issue where “cipher.exe /u” fails on client machines that are deployed with InTune, Windows Information Protection (WIP), and an updated Data Recovery Agent (DRA) certificate. Cipher.exe will fail with one of the following errors: “The request is not supported" or "The system cannot find the file specified”.
    • Addressed issue where a memory leak occurs in a nonpaged pool with the “NDnd” memory tag when you have a network bridge set up.
    • Addressed issue where you cannot add Work and School accounts in Windows Store, and you may get an error that reads, “We encountered an error; please try signing in again later.”
    • Addressed issue issue where if a Surface Hub enters Sleep mode and then resumes, it may require the user to sign in to Skype again.
    • Addressed issue where some Windows Forms (WinForms) applications that use DataGridView, Menu controls, or call a constructor for a Screen object experienced performance regressions in .NET 4.7. This was caused by additional Garbage Collections. In some cases, there was an empty UI because of a lack of GDI+ handles.
    • Addressed issue where Magnifier Lens users cannot click on buttons or select web content in Microsoft Edge or Cortana results.
    • Addressed issue introduced in the June updates where some applications may not launch when a device resumes from Connected Standby mode.

I don't know as I've never experienced that but what I did notice is that it fixed a lot of the Start Menu mishaps where it keeps reverting to the stock layout upon a reboot and pins programs that you didn't pin like Store, Calculator, etc.

Try it, it has a lot of fixes so it can't get worse
