I have an Asus laptop. Dont know anything about them just know how to get on them. So i need some real help. Now i had Windows 8 on my laptop. Its a newer one. My friend wiped the whole computer clean. He said something about a new operating system but I told him i wanted to stay with Windows 8 but now thats its wiped it wont even go to the home screen. When you turn it on it goes straight to the bios screen. So i downloaded windows 8 on a disc and tried to boot it but it ended up giving me an error code so i put it on an usb and tried to do start easy flash. It would pull it up but when i go to click on the name it does nothing. I have no clue what to do. Someone please help me.

Well then, in that case your only recourse (if you want Windows 8) would be to buy a new copy of that OS.

if youve managed to finally load windows 8 and entered the licence key you still need to load all the drivers to actually get the laptop working.
there could be upto 20 drivers needed depending on which model laptop it is.
go to the makers support website using another computer and search for all the drivers needed for your model. burn them to a disc and then enter the disc in your laptop and run each driver. this can take about 30 minutes as some drivers you will need to reboot the computer a few times for each.

if you have difficulty in activating the license, you can instead call the local Microsoft office in your country by phone.

If it came with Windows 8, then the key is indeed in the BIOS and it should self-activate.
