    System in my sig..

Basically I want to do a fresh install, but I get confused. When the computer reboots, it allows me to select the partition to install on. However I want to get rid of the 8 MB partition and the Dell Direct partition, wipe out the HD and start FRESH on a single partition on the HD. How do I do this? I'm new at it. Thanks.

AFAIK at that same partition selection screen there should be options to delete and create partitions. I think it's (logically) c to create and d to delete... enter to install XP.

but which partition do i install it on?

XP already exists on partition C

do i want to delete the other partitions? If I want to create a new installation of Win XP can I just do it on the current existing partition to overwrite or will i have "2" win home xp os's?

I thought you wanted to completely wipe the HDD?

If that's the case, you should delete ALL of the existing partitions and then create ONE partition spanning the whole disk. Then you can install XP on that partition.
