My hard drive crashed. I replaced and installed it. I now have two partitions on the drive - one has a new installation of XP, the other, I wish to use for my restore. If I get the restored version working and bootable, I'd be happy to get rid of the other partition

My image was created with Macrium Reflect Free. If I use Macrium to restore it fails telling me the image is corrupt. I tried searching this and found no answer and Macrium does not let you post in their support forums unless you have a paid copy.

The only way I can access the files in my macrium backup image is to mount the image through Windows, It then appears with a drive letter in My Computer. However, it does not appear in drive management or in Partition Magic. I tried to mount the image and then use xcopy but I got an error.

If I use straight Copy/Paste in windows - will it not be as thorough of a copy?
