    Hi all,

I currently have one Gmail account, and I have refrained the LONGEST from making a Google+ account because Google+ is a failure and I don't want to support a failure just to comment on other people's Youtube videos. But now that I want to upload my own Youtube videos, I have to make a Google+ account.

The reason why I want to make a new account is I want my current account to be used for professional purposes only; while the new account will be used for watching and hosting Youtube videos. I want a new account because I do not want to use my real name on my Youtube account, and I know that although you can change your "send as" name in Gmail, your actual name (for Google+, Youtube, etc) cannot be changed.

Is the safest and most comprehensive way to create an alias that cannot be linked to my personal Gmail account (and therefore my real name) to create a new Google account? Do I run any risk if I were to link the two accounts? Let's say my real name is John Smith, and my alias is John Samuel. If someone Googles "John Samuel", I don't want that to come back to any information that will identify John Samuel as me, John Smith.

Input welcome, and thank you in advance.

I think this might be going to the gray area when asking for such questions? I would say then make a alias to alias contact and if those have nothing related to your main gmail account or info then you should be ok. But should you like them then that is your decision to make or not make. Once your on the internet people looking hard enough can and will find out that is the nature of the internet you give up some form of privacy to your public information.

Create another account and set up e-mail forwarding so that way you'll see them appear in your main inbox. You should also be able to set it so that when you reply to an e-mail sent to your 2nd account, it sends it form that account. That is what I would personally do.
